LS4A Celebrates Solar Tariff Bill Veto
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Local Solar for All (LS4A), a coalition dedicated to empowering American energy consumers through clean energy solutions, thanked President Biden for vetoing a bill to reinstate import tariffs on solar imports from four Southeast Asian countries that passed Congress earlier this month. The resolution aimed to reverse President Biden’s 2022 executive order to pause solar tariffs for two years.
Robin Dutta, campaign director for LS4A, issued the following statement:
“We are grateful to President Biden for upholding a much-needed stay on solar tariffs that pose a significant barrier to expanding access to local solar in the country. Our energy future depends on ready access to clean, reliable local solar and storage technology for all Americans.
Mainstream local solar adoption unlocks the lowest-cost path to achieving 100% clean energy, and reducing total grid costs. Solar is accessible to communities of all income levels when the products are available and affordable. We thank the Biden Administration for its continued commitment to expand solar deployment and domestic solar manufacturing, and their commitment to enhance access to locally-generated clean energy for all.”
